Help us take HR The Musical to the world

The absurdity of the modern workplace is universal — and H.R. The Musical is ready to share its own slice of the crazy this August on the world’s biggest comedy stage: the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Gilded Balloon, where they’ll play 26 nights, is one of the top five venues in Edinburgh, and is known for its comedy programme, hosting the likes of NZ faves Flight of the Conchords and Australian musical comedian Tim Minchin (Matilda). Securing a spot at that venue is a coup for the show, and puts it in a great place to attract the attention of international producers, agents and more.

The team is fundraising throughout June and July to help them get there and get full houses throughout their Edinburgh season. Your contribution to their Boosted crowdfunding campaign will help cover the vast costs of travel, accommodation, marketing, publicity, production and venue. Be part of these three women taking Kiwi humour and joy to the world!

It’s time for your performance revue

The hit NZ workplace sketch-comedy H.R. The Musical by Amy Mansfield is heading to Edinburgh Fringe’s Gilded Balloon this August, kicking off the tour with a short fundraiser season at the Herald Theatre, Aotea Centre, Auckland — 14–18 July.

A performance revue like you’ll never get in an office tower, this riotous musical sketch-comedy takes on the ridiculous and objectionable in the modern workplace in the form of the blues, rap, latin plainchant and more. Covering transparent coworker communications, DEI, the showdown with AI, and endless restructuring.

H.R. The Musical was the runaway hit of NZ International Comedy Festival 2024, selling out across New Zealand. The show and its follow-up, H.R. The Musical #2, have since been performed to more than 10,000 people in New Zealand and Australia, including a triumphant run at Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Int’l Comedy Festival.

The Gilded Balloon is one of Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s top five venues, known for its comedy programme — having hosted the likes of Flight of the Conchords and Tim Minchin.
